Occupational hazards have always existed in many industries. In the years dating back to the 1940’s asbestos was considered a miracle discovery due to the insulation values. Asbestos was used in the retention of heat in ship building, construction, and equipment manufacturing. Today however, asbestos has been recognized as a highly dangerous airborne fiber that lodges in the pleura area of the chest cavity.
